Classic Liberal Soldier

Liberalism is a philosophy that regards liberty as a condition essential to human well being. Through free speech we come to a better understanding and course of action than we could without facing opposition. Liberalism freed men to do their business, to practise any religion; to have universal sufferage. We, who live in freedom, live in liberal democracies, whether we elect "conservatives" or "liberals." I am a classic liberal soldier.

ABOUT ME

Two political events shaped my life, and the second is the reason for this blog.
As a student I picked up Milton Freidman’s "Capitalism and Freedom," literally, for a laugh. I have yet to be convinced by opposing arguments. Classic Liberal was how Freidman defined himself.
The second event was 9/11.
Abu Nudnik is my nom de guerre. Sympathetic as I am to pacifist goals their methods rarely if ever succeed because only people of good will compromise, agree, accommodate. Others see good will as weakness and count on it to achieve their often violent political acts of subjugation.
It is hard for civilized people to fight against barbarians who only understand force and not freely entered contracts made by legal equals. Because of this fact, good moral people must temporarily quit their jobs from time to time to don a soldier’s uniform. I am too old to fight with anything but a keyboard.
